In the lively city of Milton Keynes, a grand celebration was taking place. Founder’s Day for the Gr8r Seed Church. The church was a beacon of hope in the community and various continents, providing spiritual guidance, food for the needy, and programs that had transformed countless lives. People had travelled from far and wide to honour the church’s founder, Lady Pastor Lisa M, a woman whose dedication to God and service to others had made her a beloved figure.

The Gr8r Seed church stood as a testament to decades of faith, perseverance and love. It had started humbly, in a small rented room with just a handful of members. Over the years, Lady Pastor Lisa’s tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to God’s work had helped the church grow into a vibrant congregation of hundreds of thousands across 6 continents.

But as the city buzzed with excitement, not everyone was celebrating.

Across town, in a dimly lit diner, three men sat huddled together in a corner booth. Victor, a former pastor who had once tried to split the congregation, slammed his coffee cup on the table.

“It’s ridiculous. Lisa M walks around like she’s a saint, but I know the truth,” he sneered.

Next to him, Kwabena, an influential businessman who had once tried and failed to buy the church’s land for private development, leaned in. “This Founder’s Day nonsense is over the top. A parade? A ceremony? Thousands of people singing his praises? It’s disgusting.”

The third man, Elijah, a former church shepherd who had left after a disagreement with Lady Pastor Lisa, nodded bitterly. “They don’t see the real Lisa. She’s not perfect. We need to remind people of that.”

Fueled by jealousy and resentment, the three men devised a plan to disrupt the celebration. They spread rumours through social media and whispered lies to members of the congregation, painting Lady Pastor Lisa as a woman who withheld money, played favourites, and sought glory for herself.

On the morning of Founder’s Day, the church grounds were alive with joy. Bright banners hung from every corner, choirs sang hymns, and families gathered to celebrate the lady who had given so much to their community.

Lady Pastor Lisa stood at the entrance, greeting guests with her warm charming smile. Though she was now in his seventies, her presence was still commanding, her voice steady and kind. His husband, Tyler stood beside her, his quiet strength a constant support.

Inside the sanctuary, testimonies of Lady Pastor Lisa’s impact filled the air: stories of lives changed, families restored, and faith renewed.

“She paid for my son’s college tuition when we couldn’t afford it,” one woman shared, tears streaming down her face.

“When I was homeless, Lady Pastor Lisa found me a place to stay and gave me a job,” said a man in the back, his voice breaking.

Another recorded she never gave up on my alcoholic addiction and I have been sober for over 5 years now.

But as the celebration continued, the rumours began to take root. Whispers of Lady Pastor Lisa’s supposed misdeeds spread through the crowd, casting a shadow over the joy.

As she took the stage to address the congregation, the atmosphere felt heavier than he expected. She glanced at Tyler, who gave her a reassuring nod. Taking a deep breath, she began to speak.

“Thank you all for being here today,” she said. “This celebration isn’t about me, it’s about what God has done through all of us. Gr8r Seed church exists because of His grace, and because of your faith, loyalty, hard work, and prayers.”

Just as the crowd began to cheer, a voice shouted from the back of the sanctuary.

“What about the rumours, LP? Is it true you’ve been withholding money from the church? Playing favourites with your staff?”

The accusation hung in the air, silencing the room. Gasps rippled through the congregation as people turned to see who had spoken. It was Victor, standing with Kwabena and Elijah.

Lady Pastor Lisa paused, her heart heavy. She could feel the weight of the moment, but instead of reacting in anger, she prayed silently for wisdom.

Stepping forward, LP Lisa addressed the crowd with calm and humility. “I’ve heard the whispers,” she said. “And while I don’t know what has led to these accusations, I want to assure you of one thing: my life and leadership have always been guided by this truth from Matthew 23:11-12

The greatest among you will be your servant.  For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted..’

“I have never withheld what anyone deserves, whether it’s a paycheck, loyalty, or dignity. But I’m not a perfect woman. If there is anyone here who feels I have wronged them, I invite you to come forward now. Let’s talk, and if I owe you anything, I will make it right.”

The room was silent. Victor, Kwabena, and Elijah exchanged uneasy glances, their confidence faltering.

But then… the testimonies began. One by one, members of the congregation began to stand—not with accusations, but with stories of LP Lisa’s generosity and integrity.

A former gang leader, now a pastor, wept as he spoke: “This ministry pulled me from the grave!” A single mother shared how Lisa’s teachings saved her family. A once-dying addict stood healed, declaring, “I met Christ here!”

“She paid for my mother’s surgery when we didn’t have insurance,” said one man. How can I forget

“When I lost my job, LP Lisa gave me a place to stay and helped me find work,” said another.

“She’s the reason I’m here today,” said a young woman. “She never gave up on me, even when I gave up on myself.”

As the testimonies poured out, the lies crumbled, and the accusers were left speechless. As LP Lisa stood humbly before the crowd, his voice trembled: “This was never about me. It’s about the One who called us. If I am honoured, honor Him.”

After the service, LP Lisa approached Victor, Kwabena and Elijah as they prepared to leave.

“I don’t hold this against you,” she said gently. “If there’s anything I’ve done to hurt you, I want to make it right. But know this: true authority doesn’t demand loyalty—it earns it by serving others with an open hand. I hope one day you’ll understand that.”

The men left in silence, their bitterness softened by LP Lisa’s grace.

That evening, as LP Lisa sat with Tyler on the porch of their modest home, she reflected on the day.

“Why do you think they hate you so much?” Tyler asked softly.

“It’s not me they hate,” Lisa replied. “It’s the light. When you serve with an open hand, it reminds people of what they’re withholding. But that’s between them and God. My job is to keep serving.”

May you never withhold what others deserve, whether it’s a loyalty or dignity. May you lead with an open hand, reflecting the heart of Christ in all you do. When others spread lies or harbour jealousy, may you respond with grace, trusting that God’s truth will always prevail.

“Lord, thank You for the example of Jesus, who led with an open hand and a servant’s heart. Help me to give what is owed—whether it’s honour, respect, or provision—and to lead with humility and grace. When others oppose me or spread falsehoods, remind me to trust in Your justice and reflect Your love. May my life always serve to glorify You. Amen.”

May you walk boldly in faith, leading with an open hand and reflecting God’s love in all you do.
