Adwoa always felt like she was just drifting through life. She worked a job that paid the bills but didn’t excite her. She compared herself to others on social media who seemed to be thriving, living out their dreams, and making an impact. Adwoa wondered if she was missing something, did she even have a purpose? Was there really something special about her life, or was she just another face in the crowd?

One day, as she sat quietly in her room, she picked up her Bible and stumbled upon Ephesians 2:10:
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

The verse caught Adwoa off guard. God’s handiwork? she thought. She had never seen herself in that way. She had always focused on her flaws, her failures, and the things she thought disqualified her from making a difference. But this verse spoke a different truth, she was God’s masterpiece, uniquely created for good works that He had already prepared for her.

Adwoa sat in prayer, whispering, “Lord, I’ve been feeling lost, like my life doesn’t matter. But Your Word says I am Your handiwork and that You’ve created me with a purpose. Help me to believe that truth and to trust that You have a plan for me. Show me the good works You’ve prepared for me, and help me to walk in them.”

In the days that followed, Adwoa started seeing opportunities she had overlooked before. She volunteered to mentor a young girl in her neighborhood, using her love for teaching to make a difference. She reached out to a friend going through a tough time, offering a listening ear and encouragement. With each step, Adwoa began to feel a deeper sense of purpose. She realized that the good works God had prepared for her didn’t have to be grand or flashy, they simply needed to reflect His love and grace.

Adwoa’s life didn’t suddenly become perfect, but her perspective changed. She was no longer living aimlessly. She knew she was God’s handiwork, created for a purpose, and she embraced the joy of walking in the good works He had prepared for her.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s masterpiece, uniquely created in Christ for a purpose. Each of us has been designed with intention, and God has prepared good works for us to do. When we embrace our identity in Him, we discover the joy and fulfillment of living out the purpose for which we were created. You are not an accident, you are His handiwork, crafted with love.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating us as Your handiwork, uniquely designed for a purpose. For the reader who feels lost or unsure of their significance, I pray that You remind them of the truth of Ephesians 2:10. Show them the good works You’ve prepared for them and give them the courage to walk in Your purpose for their life. Help them to see themselves as You see them, Your masterpiece, created in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let this story and prayer encourage you: If you’ve ever felt like your life doesn’t matter or that you don’t have a purpose, remember this, God created you with intention. You are His masterpiece, and He has uniquely equipped you for good works that only you can do. Trust Him to guide you, and take small steps of obedience as you walk in the purpose He has prepared for you. You were made on purpose, for a purpose, and your life is a reflection of His beautiful handiwork.
