Kobby had always dreamed of a better life. Growing up in a small, struggling community, he worked hard to build a future for himself. Through years of dedication and prayer, Kobby finally achieved what he’d been hoping for a good job, a nice home, and financial stability. For the first time in his life, he felt secure. But as the months went by, he realized something was missing. He had worked so hard to reach this point, yet he felt unfulfilled. Kobby began to wonder: Is this all there is?
One evening, as he sat reflecting on his journey, he opened his Bible and stumbled upon Genesis 12:2. It was God’s promise to Abram:
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

At first, Kobby wasn’t sure how it would all come together, but God provided. People from the church and community stepped in to support the program, and lives began to change. Families found hope, individuals discovered their potential, and the entire neighbourhood started to thrive. Kobby’s heart overflowed with joy as he saw how God was using him to make a difference.
Years later, someone asked Kobby why he had started the program. He smiled and said, “God didn’t bless me just for my own benefit. He blessed me so that I could be a blessing to others. That’s what He promised Abram in Genesis 12:2, and that’s what He’s calling all of us to do. When we live with open hands, God uses us in ways we could never imagine.”
Genesis 12:2 reminds us that God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. His blessings, whether they come in the form of resources, talents, or opportunities are not meant to be hoarded but shared.
