Kuuku sat at his kitchen table, staring at the stack of rejection letters in front of him. He had been applying for jobs for months, but every door seemed to slam shut. No matter how qualified he felt or how much effort he put into his applications, the answer was always the same: “We regret to inform you…”
Frustrated and discouraged, Kuuku prayed, “God, why does it feel like every door is closed? What am I doing wrong? Please guide me, I need to know what You want for my life.”
Later that week, Kuuku was reading his Bible when he came across Isaiah 22:22:
“I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”
The verse struck a chord in Kuuku’s heart. He realized that God had the ultimate authority over every door in his life, whether it was open or closed.
In Isaiah 22:22, God speaks of giving authority to Eliakim, a faithful servant, symbolized by the “key to the house of David.” This key represents power and trust. Eliakim could open doors that no one else could shut, and shut doors that no one else could open.
Kuuku realized that this same truth applied to his life. God held the key to his future. If God opened a door, nothing could stop it. And if God closed a door, it was because He had something better in store.
Kuuku decided to change his perspective. Instead of seeing closed doors as failures, he began to see them as God’s protection and guidance.

Kuuku prayed earnestly, asking God to open the right doors and close the wrong ones. He surrendered his plans to God, trusting that His timing and purpose were perfect. - Finding Peace in Closed Doors
Whenever a rejection came, Kuuku reminded himself of Isaiah 22:22. If God had closed the door, it was for a reason. Instead of feeling defeated, he chose to thank God for protecting him from opportunities that weren’t part of His plan. - Walking Through Open Doors
A few weeks later, Kuuku received a call from a company he hadn’t even applied to. A former coworker had recommended him for a position, and after a quick interview, he got the job. The door had opened in a way Kuuku never expected, and he knew it was God’s doing.
As Kuuku settled into his new role, he reflected on how God had guided him through the season of uncertainty. The closed doors had been frustrating, but they had ultimately led him to the right opportunity.
He realized that God’s authority over the “keys” in his life was a blessing. By trusting in God’s guidance, Kuuku found peace, purpose, and confidence in the path God had prepared for him.
Isaiah 22:22 reminds us that God holds the ultimate authority over our lives. He opens doors that no one can shut and shuts doors that no one can open.
When we face closed doors, it’s not a sign of failure, it’s often God’s way of protecting us or redirecting us toward something better. When we trust Him with the keys to our lives, we can walk confidently through the doors He opens and find peace in the ones He closes.
May you trust in the God who holds the key to your life. May He open doors of opportunity, purpose, and blessing that no one can shut. And may you find peace in knowing that every closed door is part of His perfect plan for your good.

Heavenly Father, thank You for holding the key to my life. Help me to trust You with every open and closed door. Guide me in Your perfect timing and purpose, and give me peace when I don’t understand Your ways. Thank You for leading me to what is best for me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
